The Fun, Friendly way to dance, whilst learning incredible technique training in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Street dance & Commercial, Show work & Competition work.
Director & Founder Lorraine Hornsey has been running the school for 30 years in Brentwood Essex.
We offer classes with a full time table from age 2 years to 18 years with yearly shows, Exciting & fun classes whilst ensuring excellent training.

Pre school Classes from 2 years to Senior classes for up to 18 years and all classes and age groups in between.

Meet Our Teachers

School Principal - Lorraine Hornsey

Lorraine trained at Bush Davies & has worked as a professional dancer & choreographer for over 40 years. Lorraine was taught by some of the most influential teachers in the industry including TV's Arlene Phillips & choreopraher Molly Molloy.

Professional credits include:

Various pantomimes at Oxford, South Sea, Westcliff, Cliffs Pavilion & London New Victoria Theatre.

Lorraine also worked for many years performing in various cabarat shows in Londons West End.

She has been lucky enough to travel the world as a Dancer/Choreographer in Italy, Cyprus, Egypt, Abu Dhabi, Far East, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand & Malaysia to name a few, she then went on to be head choreographer for THF hotels.

Lorraine starred on 'Reg Varneys Half hour show' on saturday night television & BBC play for todays 'Bless this house'

Lorraine choreographed for the 'Irene Bell Dance Group' then went on to create her own dance company that toured all over the Far East.

Lorraine taught at multiple schools in London & Essex such as Hornchurch School Of Dancing, Studio 10, Body Shop Dance Studios & Colins Performing Arts before she opened up her own school in 1993 where Lorraine's School Of Dancing was born.

My Vision

We are a 'Tight Knit' School where each child has the chance to shine no matter what age or ability. We provide the most professional standard of training where each student becomes more confident in every aspect of their life.

I wanted to create a school that was affordable, fun & friendly without parents having to spend extortionate amounts of money on fee's and costumes for shows.

All our costumes are provided by our wardrobe department at showtime.

I provide the best training for my students & strive to follow & support them on each individual journey.

Lorraine Hornsey

Head of Admin & Teacher - Sophia-Marie

Sophia-Marie started as a student at the school.

She then went on to work professionally all over the world. She worked as Cast Manager for Carnival Cruise Lines where she had previously worked as a singer & dancer in the production casts. She has also worked for Fred Olsen Cruise lines.

After 10 years working as a professional performer Sophia then returned home and opened Sophisticated Entertainment Ltd where she provides high quality production shows all over the world.

Sophia teaches an array of classes throughout the school.

Teacher - Charley Webster

Charley is a professional Dancer, Singer and Actress. She started her training from the age of 3 before becoming a graduate from Performance Preparation Academy in Guildford gaining a First Degree in Musical Theatre.

Credits include: The Pirate Queen (London Coliseum) , Pink Angora Sweater workshop (Stuart Brayson) & Singer/Dancer onboard Fred Olsen Cruise Lines.

Credits while training: Fastrada in Pippin ( Eve Lyon’s Studio, Ensemble in Spring Awakening (Eve Lyon’s Studio), Dance Captain in Evita (Eve Lyon’s Studio)

Charley recently choreographed Sophisticated’s production of The Wizard Of Oz.

With her wealth of experience in the professional world, Charley is now delighted to be a part of the fabulous team at Lorraine School Of Dancing and is passionate for teaching and passing her training and knowledge of the performing industry onto aspiring performers.
